Investing in Artists - Informational Grants Workshop

The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) is offering an informational workshop on its Investing in Artists grants program for individual artists in California. This grants program is designed to enhance the working lives and creative environment for individual artists in California by funding both equipment and tools for artists, as well as creative projects that will allow artists to explore new ways of working. Round VI grant applications for the Performing Arts and Media Arts are due on July 9, 2010.

CCI is presenting this in-person information session to provide a general orientation to the Investing in Artists grants program application and funding guidelines. The in-person session will include:

  • An overview of the application guidelines and criteria.
  • An overview of the online application form via CultureGrants Online‚ Q & A

This session is limited to 40 people.

Time: 1:30pm - 3:00pm

Cost: FREE, but registration is required.

In addition, CCI is hosting a series of webinars covering the same topics as the in-person information session.

Webinars will be offered at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, May 27th from 6:30pm -7:30pm
  • Saturday, June 12th from 10:00am -11:00am
  • Monday, June 21st from 12:00pm -1:00pm

The webinar will include a simultaneous web presentation and conference call. The webinars are toll-free and you must pre-register in order to receive the access code and dial-in instructions. Space is limited, so we request that you register no later than noon on the day preceding the scheduled call.

The Business of Art is Coming to the Bay Area!

The Business of Art Boot Camp is an intensive workshop program focusing on key subjects for individual artists who want to increase their business skills. With an emphasis on three core subjects: Personal Goal Setting and Values, Marketing and Grantwriting, the Business of Art Boot Camp will provide students with knowledge, tools and resources to help them support further career development.

The Boot Camp also includes a summary session that highlights key concepts in strategic planning, legal issues, money management and alternative financing options.
